GOTTA GETTA GIRL

Gotta Getta Girl is a tap-dance extravaganza (for three performers), an homage to the Arthur Freed/MGM musicals of the ‘40s and ‘50s, like Singin’ In The Rain and The Band Wagon… but with a modern twist. Peter Charles Morris wrote the book and lyrics; David Caldwell composed the music. AMAS is mounting an off-Broadway production in the fall of 2017, directed and choreographed by Tony-nominee Randy Skinner.

"In Gotta Getta Girl, Gene and Don, a Vaudeville tap dancing duo are forced to re-evaluate their unsuccessful career in show business when they decide they "gotta getta girl" into the act -- even if it means keeping Don from the one thing he's always wanted: Gene! When their new and adorable tap dancing beauty, Debbie, turns out to be more than what meets the eyes, Don is forced to take drastic steps to win back his man. The MGM Movie Musical that never was - on stage!"
